Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, Jesse Haas studied film in New Mexico at the College of Santa Fe. Before setting his sites on editing, Jesse worked at many major film festivals (Telluride, Sundance, San Francisco) as a projectionist and lighting technician. This lead to a short stint as a set-dresser for music videos and commercials (including JLO-Jenny from the Block, L’Oreal).
Jesse then switched gears to post-production and worked for six years at Lost Planet Editorial in New York and Los Angeles under the mentorship of Hank Corwin (The Big Short, Natural Born Killers, The Tree of Life).
Jesse has edited major commercial campaigns (Ralph Lauren, Hanes, Cisco, Walmart, the USTA, Sheraton Hotels) with many notable directors (Wong Kar-Wai, Zach Braff, Patrick Sherman, Ruben Fleicher). Most recently Jesse worked on the Showtime documentary BURN MOTHERFUCKER, BURN!, directed by Sacha Jenkins.
Other recent projects include the feature documentary ACID HORIZON, WAY PAST MIDNIGHT for Red Bull TV, and HBO’s BANKSY DOES NEW YORK. Jesse currently lives and works in Fort Greene, Brooklyn where he continues to edit commercials, music videos, and feature films.
